  • Identify and retrieve ontology file to be used in classification (perhaps using a registry)
  • If the ontology is provisional and evolving, optionally edit (using an ontology editor)
  • Associate object(s) with terms in the ontology
  • Save these associations within local application or export (e.g.: as rdf)
