Geographical Search



Activity Definition(s)

1. This is a form of Context Search in which one further refines the search criteria such as metadata.

2. A search for place names such that specified types of artifacts can be found at that place.

  • specify the types of artifacts of interest, e.g., manuscripts, statues, forms of architecture.
  • specify a general geographical bound on the search, e.g., just southeast asia.
  • specify type of place of interest, e.g., cities, precincts, or parks.
  • execute search and get result list. 
  • use a geographic visualization to guide search
