This will be our place to plan for the in-person Partners' meeting to be held January 26-28, 2011 in Berkeley, CA.

Meeting Goals

  • Definition & common understanding of what success looks like for BTP Phase One
  • Accelerating progress
    • in each Area of Work through face-to-face interaction
    • continuously, going forward through Phase One
  • Adjusting work plans
  • Improve the ways we work together – across institutions and areas of work
  • Discuss how Bamboo is and should be engaging with other projects, initiatives, organizations

  • What does Phase 1 success look like?
    • *Please complete the pre-work so we can begin our discussion from a known place by reviewing the information here and in the linked pages. You can also review the materials in a PDF .
    • We will explore this topic at the strategic level focusing on the whole project as well as from the perspective for each Area of Work
    • We will explore what sort of adjustments we should make now that the project has been underway for a few months
    • Over the course of the meeting we will continue to refine our definition via breakouts and reports
    • Details:
      • David provides context and goals for this topic, describes how we will approach it during and after the conference (10 minutes)
      • Forward looking focus: Each work area presents their information, high level, focus on priorities – what, why/benefits, dependencies (esp. with other Work Areas) and risks (*10 minute presentation; 5 minute top of mind Q & A; total 1 hour)
      • Continue with deeper Q & A discussion, work out conflicts (if any) regarding interdependent priorities (50 minutes)
        • Identify areas that need further exploration, discussion and decision-making and tag these for work during the next day’s Work Area session (see below) and for the PEG during February time frame.

Post Meeting

Use a longer PEG meeting in February to wrap this up as necessary. We must also acknowledge that in a research program using agile development we will need to make adjustments in the future.

Which Work Area Break Out to Attend?

Many team members work on more than one Work Area. Please attend the Work Area session for the Area that is your primary focus.

Use the pre and post conference small group sessions as appropriate to work with the other groups.
