The Tools and Content Working Group has proposed Recipes as a way of organizing the functionality proposed for Bamboo.

What is a recipe?

Recipes describe how to achieve goals using information technology. Recipes are written for scholars and describe the tools and steps needed to complete a task in non-technical language. In short Recipes are built on the stories academics tell about what they want to do by generalizing to shared tasks and they allow Bamboo to organize technology to support those tasks.

How do I make a recipe?

  • Make a recipe - this generates a blank Recipe template.
  • See Instructions for Recipes for help developing Recipes. GR
  • See Recipe Template for an annotated template for recipes. GR
  • TO DO (TC): add a page discussing of the relationship between Recipes, Tool Types, and the Content Types.

Example recipes

The recipes, once they stabilize, will be organized into a repository. For the moment we have some examples.
